July NCI Charrette System™ Training in Portland
One of the four cases used for the NCI Charrette
System tools and techniques exercises will have a sustainable planning
focus. Participants in this case study will learn
how to plan and conduct a sustainable plan using a charrette. Other
case studies focus on a transit oriented development, a transportation
corridor plan with form based codes, and a citywide comprehensive
plan.

NCI Charrette System™ Certificate Training
This 3-day NCI training teaches the tools
and techniques for planning and running a successful project using
a charrette. The NCI Charrette System™ training is ideal for planners
and designers and developers specializing in sustainable development,
transportation, public works, and transit as well as citizen advocacy. (full

NCI Charrette Management and Facilitation™ Certificate Trainings
This 1.5-day, advanced training will equip
charrette managers with the essential tools and techniques required
to manage a fast-paced, and constantly changing, multiple day charrette.
Participants learn the essentials of detailed day-to-day charrette
management along with the indispensable skills of public meeting
planning and facilitation. (full

These trainings are accredited
with the AIA for continuing education system (CES) units, with
the AICP for certification maintenance (CM) credits, and the ASLA
for LA CES professional development hours (PDH). Earn up to 27
credits with NCI certificate trainings this summer.
Our Mission
The National Charrette Institute (NCI) is an IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofit educational institution.
- We teach professionals and community leaders the NCI Charrette System,
a design-based, accelerated, collaborative project management system
that harnesses the talents and energies of all interested parties to
create and support a feasible plan.
- We advance the fields of community planning and public involvement
through research and publications.
